Creating Synthetic TimeSeries Data with SAS Viya

This session will focus on the various methods, techniques and tools within SAS Viya that are available to create timeseries data. We'll begin by introducing the easy to use but powerful RAND function in BASE SAS. Next, we show how this can be generalized for repeated use and automation in a SAS Custom Step.  Next, we will introduce the concept of GANs and show a working example of how they can be used in Viya. Finally, we introduce the concept of SMOTE and show how it works in SAS Data Maker.

Dave Kestner is a Data Scientist with the Life Sciences Customer Advisory at SAS. He holds master's degrees from Grand Valley State University and Western Michigan University and has worked in analytics across multiple industries in his 15 year career.
