Getting Started with SAS/IML
SAS/IML is a separate mathematics programming language within the SAS system. SAS/IML enables custom procedures that use matrix algebra, non linear optimization, and more. Getting started in IML begins with the PROC IML statement and ends with the QUIT statement. To use IML, SAS datasets or other data need to be imported and reports need to be produced. And data may need to be exported. This paper will cover the steps for these necessary tasks. And, if there is time, I will cover some new features introduced over the 23 yrs since I have used IML in my daily work.
